FIRE crews were called to a blaze at a Co Tyrone recycling centre which recently reopened after coronavirus lockdown.

The fire began at a stockpile of wood at Cookstown Recycling Centre on Saturday evening.

The blaze was brought under control and there were no injuries.

The centre has now been closed until further notice.

Council environment committee chair Wilbert Buchanan thanked the emergency services and council staff who worked to put out the fire.
