There have been a further two deaths of patients who tested positive for Covid-19 in Northern Ireland, the Department of Health has said.

One person died in the last day while the other previously passed away.

It brings total related fatalities in the north to 449.

Another 60 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19.

There were 1,393 tests carried out on 1,057 people.

The figures were released after Deputy First Minister Michelle O'Neill said social-distancing measures "will be a feature of our lives for probably 18 months to 24 months".

Ms O'Neill said that if people continued to adhere to the guidance to stay at home and practise good hand hygiene "the quicker we bring this R rate down" and "the quicker we get to phase one" of the five-step recovery plan announced by the Executive yesterday.

First Minister Arlene Foster said she hopes lockdown will be "long past" by December.

"We will be past stage five by that time (December 5). I would be very much hopeful (of) that, unless there has been a second peak or a second wave of this," she said, adding she hoped this was achieved "long before December 5".
