Coronavirus: Three more deaths in Northern Ireland

Coronavirus has claimed the lives of three more people in the north.

The three deaths are of people who had tested positive for Covid-19 in the 24 hours up to 10am today, according to the Department of Health.

The department puts the death toll at 438. 

The department said today that there are confirmed outbreaks in 76 care homes and suspected outbreaks in 38 care homes.

An outbreak is where at least two residents or members of staff have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 14 days.

In the most recent weekly bulletin from Nisra it showed that up to May 1 coronavirus deaths in care homes accounted for 45% of the entire death toll of 516.

As of today there are 19 people with confirmed or suspected Covid-19 in hospital intensice care units (ICU) and a further 33 ICU beds are available, according to the department
