PRAYERS were last night being offered for a two-year-old boy injured after reportedly falling into a fire in west Belfast.

The child is understood to be in hospital after being left "badly injured".

It is understood he fell into the fire while playing on Monday and has undergone surgery.

A message posted on the Corpus Christi parish Facebook page appealed to the community to "please keep in prayer" the young boy who "fell into a fire and is badly injured".

"Lord, enfold him in healing love and care."

Hundreds of messages of support have been offered to the toddler's family.

One woman wrote: "Aww poor wee child. Will keep him in my prayers", while another added: "Candle burning, God bless wee man".

Another message said: "Sending hugs and healing prayers for the family and the little lad".
