A 30-year-old man is due to appear in court in Co Down today charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Police said he also faces a number of other charges, including dangerous driving, criminal damage, driving when unfit through drink or drugs and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
It is understood the charges relate to a number of incidents in the greater Downpatrick area over the weekend.
He is due to appear before Newtownards Magistrates Court via videolink.
