RADIO Ulster programme, Sunday with Dearbhail, has been removed from the scheduled line-up after just seven months.

Newry-born presenter Dearbhail McDonald took up the show, which provided an in-depth look at current affairs, interviews, discussion and analysis, last October.

In a statement, she said she was "incredibly proud of what was achieved" and praised the "outstanding team" around her.

A BBC NI spokesman said: "Dearbhail brought a great expertise, energy and warmth to Sunday With Dearbhail on BBC Radio Ulster.

"We thank her for her contribution to the station and wish her every success for the future," he said.

It is not believed Ms McDonald will be presenting any other programmes on BBC Radio Ulster.

The BBC Radio Ulster schedule says there are no further upcoming episodes of the programme. The corporation did not say what will replace it.
