Man 'tries to set neighbour alight' in north Belfast

Police are investigating an incident outside a house in the Silverstream Avenue area of north Belfast following a report that a man had doused a neighbour with some form of accelerant and then attempted to set it alight.

The male neighbour managed to evade his attacker and the suspect was arrested by police a short time later.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries, police said. 



Detectives would ask anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have mobile phone footage to contact them at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 1144 21/04/20.
