NHS workers gathered in west Belfast at the weekend to help launch a new mural in honour of their work on the front line against coronavirus.

The mural, which was created by artists, Marty Lyons and Mickey Docherty, has been painted on the 'International Wall' on the Falls Road.

Louise Carlile, a Community Midwife in west Belfast, who attended the mural launch, said it was "uplifting".

"The level of community support for NHS workers and the community response to help those most in need has really made a difference over the past few weeks," she said.

"It is uplifting to see this mural at the International Wall and, as an NHS worker, we really appreciate the solidarity shown to us right across the community".

She added: "I want to thank Féile an Phobail and Fáilte Feirste and also the mural artists for this wonderful idea.

"This is about saving lives and everyone has their own part to play. Working together we will get through this," she said.
