A 26-year-old man and a woman aged 19 have been arrested after a man in his twenties suffered serious head injuries in an attack in west Belfast.

The man was assaulted outside a house on Arundel Walk off Grosvenor Road in west Belfast at around 11.20pm yesterday.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

The man and woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. They remain in custody today.

It is believed that another man left the scene before police arrived. Officers are still trying to find him.
