Armed robbers have stolen two cash boxes in separate attacks in west Belfast this morning.

A man armed with a knife threatened a cash in transit employee outside a supermarket on Kennedy Way at around 10.10am.

The man stole cash box which he later dropped.

He made off in a white Peugeot 208 driven by an accomplice. 

A short time later a man armed with a knife threatened a cash in transit employee outside a shop on the Glen Road. 

The robber took a cash box and made off in a white Peugeot 208. The car drove off down the Glen Road towards the Monagh bypass.

Police are investigating a link between the robberies.

The man is described as being in his late twenties, approximately 5’9” tall and of slim build. 

He was wearing a dark baseball cap and light zip-up jacket.

Police asked anyone who saw a white Peugeot being driven erratically in the area this morning, or who may have phone or dash cam footage of the robberies, to call detectives on 101.
