A 36-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of gangland boss Robbie Lawlor in north Belfast has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Lawlor, a suspect in the murder of Drogheda teenager Keane Mulready Woods in January, was shot several times in the garden of a house at Etna Drive in Ardoyne on Saturday.

The 36-year-old man was detained on Tuesday night following searches of two separate properties in Ardoyne.

Police said this morning he had been released on bail.

Four other people have been arrested in connection with the murder but have since been released without charge.

Two men, aged 30 and 33, and a 17-year-old boy had been questioned by detectives.

A 27-year-old man who had also been detained was released on Monday.
