Gardaí have arrested a man in relation to the attack on Co Fermanagh businessman Kevin Lunney.

The man, who is aged in his 50s, is being held at Cavan Garda Station.

Mr Lunney, a director at Quinn Industrial Holdings, was abducted and subjected to a terrifying attack last year.

The latest arrest comes after Co Fermanagh couple Sean McGovern and his wife Teresa told the Irish News they had no “act or part” in the attack.

The couple and their son Bernard were arrested and questioned last week before being released unconditionally.

A close relative was also detained in Co Cavan by Gardaí and later released.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
