A man arrested by detectives investigating the kidnap and torture of Co Fermanagh businessman Kevin Lunney has been released without charge.

The man, aged in his 30s, was detained at Cavan Garda station on Thursday.

Gardaí said a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions and investigations are continuing.

It comes after three members of his family were released unconditionally on Friday after being arrested in Co Fermanagh as part of the cross-border investigation.

The two men, aged 23 and 61, and a woman aged 61 were detained on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap; conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent; and assisting offenders.

Mr Lunney, a director at Quinn Industrial Holdings was abducted outside his home near Derrylin, Co Fermanagh last September and taken to a horsebox across the border where he was savagely beaten.

In December, four men were remanded in custody at a court in Co Cavan charged with the kidnap and torture of Mr Lunney.
