A Public Health Agency update about the spread of coronavirus yesterday experienced a technical issue with its `guidance for employers' section.

A weekly update sent out to media organisations which reveals the latest data regarding the infection in Northern Ireland also provides advice for travellers and for those in educational settings.

However, this week's update, which was posted on Wednesday, had no guidance for employers and businesses.

When a link to the guidance was clicked, it was found to be blocked.

When the Public Health Agency was notified about it, a spokeswoman said the link should have taken users to the GOV.uk website where advice is available.

The link was restored a short time later.

Guidance to employers on the issue include signs and symptoms, steps to prevent spread of infection, use of face masks, details of those who may be at risk, what to do if a member of staff is confirmed as having coronavirus, how to certify absence from work and how to handle packages from infected areas.

There have been 13 confirmed cases in the UK to date.

The Public Health Agency (PHA) revealed this week that 52 people have been tested for the virus in Northern Ireland and all results have come back negative.
