Police investigating the murder of a pensioner in Co Down last November, have arrested a man in England.

The body of widower Mike Kerr (68) was discovered inside his Birch Drive home on Tuesday November 19 last year by neighbours who became suspicious when he had not taken in the bins from outside his home in Bangor.

A 50-year-old man has been arrested in Birmingham and taken to Musgrave Custody Suite where he is currently being questioned.

Police have previously said that Mr Kerr, a former BBC television announcer, either disturbed intruders or was the victim of a personal vendetta.
