A 48-YEAR-OLD man has been released on bail after the body of a man in his twenties was found in Co Down yesterday morning.

The body was discovered in Crochan Court in Bangor's Rathgill estate.

It is understood the man was found in the garden of a home.

A police spokeswoman said officers first received a report at 7.50am yesterday.

The 48-year-old man was later arrested and was taken to Musgrave PSNI station in Belfast for questioning.

He was released on bail, pending further inquiries, last night.

DUP councillor Wesley Irvine said he was stunned to learn of the man's sudden death.

"It's a tragic death," he said. "My thoughts and sympathies are with the man's family."

Alliance councillor Karen Douglas said the community had been shocked by the death.

"Investigations into the cause of his tragic death are ongoing and I would ask anyone with information to pass it to the police on the 101 number or anonymously to the Crimestoppers Charity on 0800 555 111," she said.

"I would offer my deepest sympathies to his family and friends at this time."
