Man (24) held by police in connection with burglaries in north Belfast

A 24-year-old man was last night bring held by police on suspicion of burglary, aggravated burglary and a number of motoring offences.

The man was arrested by officers investigating a number of burglaries in north Belfast on Tuesday.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Police received reports of three burglaries in the area of Grays Lane.

"During one of the burglaries the occupants were threatened with a kitchen knife."

A silver Hyundai IX20 car stolen during one of the burglaries subsequently collided with a parked vehicle just off the Cavehill Road. The driver of the car escaped from the scene.

Police have appealed for information.
