THERE has been condemnation of a gun attack on a home in north Belfast.

Shots were fired at the front door and at the rear window of a white Audi car sitting in the driveway of the house in Torrens Road on Monday evening.

While damage was caused, no-one was injured in the shooting.

SDLP councillor Paul McCusker said it was a "brutal attack committed by criminals who need to face justice".

"Thankfully, nobody was injured but it was still a frightening incident for the local community," he said.

"They deserve better than the fear and anxiety that comes from attacks like these.

"Those responsible have nothing to offer people here. We’re trying to build a better north Belfast and acts like this only make that harder. They have to be faced down.

"I would appeal to anyone with information to bring it forward to police".

Detective Sergeant Eric Fairfield asked for anyone who noticed anything suspicious at around 7.15pm on Monday to contact the PSNI on 101.
