A WOMAN was freed from her car following a crash in the Holyland area of south Belfast.

Emergency services were called to a collision on Jerusalem Street yesterday afternoon.

Images from the scene show the woman's car balanced on two wheels after it became wedged between two cars.

It is not known how the crash happened. The narrow street was cordoned off for several hours following the collision and police urged motorists to avoid the area.

A large group of people gathered to film or take pictures of the scene as the car was recovered.

The Holyland is an area of the city known for its large student population.
