Sinead O'Connor to return to the stage in Belfast next summer

SINEAD O'Connor is to return to the stage in Belfast next Summer.

It was announced yesterday that the 52-year-old Dublin-born singer will perform at the `Live at the Botanic Gardens' event on Sunday, June 7, 2020 with Soak announced as the special guest.

News of the appearance comes as the Nothing Compares 2U singer just completed a sold out Irish tour.

The performer who can boast of chart topping singles, hit albums and numerous awards an array, is also well-known for her personal life with her spiritual journey leading her through turbulent times before she found solace in Islam.

Also performing at the event are The National, who will take to the stage on Saturday, June 6.

The gig will be Matt Berninger, Aaron Dessner, Bryce Dessner, Scott Devendorf and Bryan Devendorf's first performance in the city for more than seven years.

The band, who have established themselves as mainstays of arenas and festivals with sold-out performances, have sold more than two million albums in the US alone.

Tickets for Live at Botanic Gardens go on sale on Friday.
