THREE men were injured during a brawl at a Co Antrim pub on Sunday night.

Police said a flick baton was among the weapons used in the fight in the Waring Street area of Ballymena.

The disturbance took place around 10.50pm, starting in the bar before spilling outside and onto the street.

The men sustained head injuries and a broken arm, none of which are believed to be life-threatening.

Three men, aged 30, 31 and 38, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

A 56-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm in suspicious circumstances.

All four were still in police custody yesterday.

Detective Sergeant Toni Lenaghan said an investigation is under way to to establish what occurred and a motive.
