A VAN believed to be connected to the abduction and attack on Quinn Industrial Holdings director Kevin Lunney is reported to have been found in Co Meath by gardaí.

There was no official comment from An Garda Síochána last night, but RTE news reported that discovery of the white hi-roof transit type van in Duleek is considered by detectives to be a "significant investigative breakthrough".

Gardaí had been hunting the vehicle since the September 17 attack.

Mr Lunney was abducted from his car 500 metres from his Co Fermanagh home and found on a roadway in Co Cavan two and a half hours later with serious injuries.
