A 29-year-old man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in north Belfast.

Noel Patrick Cawley (29), of Havana Walk in Ardoyne, allegedly attacked a man with a kitchen knife.

Belfast Magistrates' Court heard on Saturday the attack happened outside Mr Crawley's house on Friday.

The injured man suffered stab wounds to his chest, back and arms. He was treated in hospital but has since been discharged.

Mr Cawley was freed on bail.

He is due back in court next month.
