Motorcyclist killed in Banbridge crash

Police at the scene of a fatal accident involving a tractor and a motorcyclist near Banbridge

THE mother of a motorcyclist killed in a road traffic collision in Banbridge has said her family is "heartbroken".

Taylor Blemings (33) from Lurgan, was involved in a collision between a motorbike and a tractor.

The incident happened on the Tullyrain Road shortly after 10am on Thursday.

The tractor driver was treated at the scene for shock and taken to hospital as a precaution.

Mr Blemings' mother Barbara paid tribute last night.

"My wonderful, beautiful Son Taylor Blemings. My first born. Was killed on his motorbike this morning," she said.

"We are totally heartbroken. Thank God I got to see him this morning before he left. His last words were. See you later Mom. Love ya. How I would love to hear those words from him again.

"The policeman and woman were lovely and thank you to them."

DUP MLA Carla Lockhart expressed her shock.

"Just can’t believe this. So, so tragic. I knew Taylor well and he really was a lovely young man," she said.

The Tullyrain Road was closed in both directions as police examined the area.

Inspector Gary Moore said: "I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and captured the collision on their dash cam, or who saw either vehicle prior to the collision to contact police."
