FRIENDS of Derry singer Nadine Coyle have put her reported split with boyfriend of 11 years Jason Bell down to the fact they were living increasingly separate lives.
The former Girls Aloud singer relocated back to Ireland with the couple’s daughter, Anaíya, two years ago.
The 34-year-old singer rose to fame in the early 2000s with Girls Aloud. The group earned an estimated £30 million fortune through 20 consecutive UK top ten singles and four UK number one albums.
After moving to the US to live in 2006, Coyle opened an Irish bar in Sunset Beach, California which was run by her family. Two years after settling in the US, she started dating American footballer Bell and the two became engaged but ended the engagement in 2011. The couple later rekindled their romance and Coyle gave birth their baby daughter, Anaíya Bell in February 2014.
Coyle, who said she was homesick, moved back to Derry with her daughter in 2016 while Bell remained in the US to focus on his sports commentary career.
While they never married, Coyle lived with Bell after the birth of their daughter and often referred to him as her “husband”. According to The Sun their separation has been amicable.
Quoting a source, the newspaper said: “Although Nadine and Jason were never married, they lived as a close family unit and remain good friends as they co-parent their young daughter.
“They still care for one another but are no longer in a romantic relationship.”
