A MAN in his forties has been dragged out of his car and threatened at knifepoint during a hijacking in west Belfast.

The incident happened at around 10:25 on Thursday night as the man's grey Seat Altea slowed down at a speed bump on Osman Street.

The PSNI said the driver removed his keys from the vehicle in an effort to thwart its theft before attempting to run off. However, a man caught him and, according to police, a "physical fight ensued".

The driver handed over his keys after a knife was held to his face.

He was not injured during the incident but was left shaken.

Police have appealed for information about the hijacking and asked anyone who may have dashcam footage to contact them.
