A MAN has been treated in hospital for head injuries after he was struck with a hammer in Co Antrim.
The man, who is in a "stable condition" was assaulted in the Kellburn Park area of Ballyclare after a number of men forced their way into his home.
Police said they are treating incident, which happened around 12:25am yesterday morning, as a paramilitary style attack.
"This was a vicious assault on a man in his own home, a place where everyone has the right to feel safe," a PSNI spokesman said.
Police have appealed for anyone who may have spotted suspicious activity between 12:20am and 12:50am yesterday morning to contact them.
