Security alerts in Lurgan and Strabane declared a hoax

TWO security alerts in Lurgan and Strabane have been declared hoaxes.

A suspicious object was discovered in the Lake Street area of Lurgan on Tuesday morning.

Police cordons were put in place at Lake Street, Victoria Street and the Antrim Road.

However, police said later the bomb squad had examined the object and declared it to be a hoax.

A second security alert in the Innisfree Gardens area of Strabane also ended at around 4pm on Tuesday after a suspicious object was declared a hoax.
