POLICE have questioned a man after a taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint in Antrim.

The driver picked up two men and a woman in the Ballymena Road area at around 12.30am today and took them to Junction One.

Once there the front seat passenger brandished a firearm and demanded money before striking the driver in the face with the weapon.

The three then made off.

A short time later police received reports of a break-in at a burger van in the Springfarm estate and criminal damage at a shop on the Ballymena Road.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested.
