ONLINE retailer Amazon is facing calls to remove "sickening" Soldier F T-shirts from its website.

There are several sellers offering a range of shirts, some of which have been on sale since April.

Victims' families described them as "disgusting and deeply offensive".

Soldier F is a former paratrooper who is facing prosecution for the murder of two men on Bloody Sunday in Derry in 1971.

Parachute Regiment flags and banners have appeared in towns across Northern Ireland in recent months in support of him.

Various styles, designs and colours of shirts, in men's and women's sizes are listed on the site.

SDLP leader Colum Eastwood last night called on Amazon to remove listings for the merchandise.

The Foyle assembly member said the clothing was "grossly offensive to those who lost loved ones" and should be taken off sale.

"The commercialisation of this sickening spectacle is disgusting and action should be taken to remove the merchandise from retailers," he said.

"I will be contacting senior executives at Amazon to express my serious concerns about the Soldier F apparel that is available on the site and asking that it be removed immediately.

"It is grossly offensive to those who lost loved ones on Bloody Sunday who should not have to face people wearing slogans supporting a man charged with the murder of their family members."
