The Foyle Bridge in Derry was closed for a time yesterday following a collision between a police motorcyclist and a cyclist.

The collision happened at around 11.35am as a cycle race was ongoing in the city.

A police spokesman said: "NIAS attended alongside police, and both the male police motorcyclist and the male cyclist were treated at hospital for minor injuries and have both since been discharged".

The PSNI said the Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland had been informed as is "normal procedure".
