MOURNERS will gather in Lisburn today for the funeral of murdered 50-year-old Paul Smyth.

He was found dead from shotgun wounds in the living room of his house on Coulson Avenue in the Co Antrim town at 8.45pm on Friday June 21.

A post mortem examination revealed he had been shot in the chest, with shotgun wadding was recovered from the fatal wound.

Police believe he was killed between 2am and 3am on Wednesday June 19.

James Holmes, from Lawmount Crescent in Lisburn and James McVeigh, from Ward Avenue in Lisburn, who are jointly charged with his murder have both been remanded in custody.

Requiem Mass will be held at 10am in St Patrick's Church, Chapel Hill with interment afterwards in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
