Teenage girl and man critical after separate weekend road crashes

TWO people were in a critical condition in hospital last night after separate single-vehicle road crashes in Co Down and Co Tyrone yesterday morning.

A 19-year-old girl who was the driver of a Fiat Grand Punto car which crashed on the Ballycrochan Road, Bangor, around 3.30am. Three passengers, also teenage girls, were taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, a man in his 30s was injured after the car he was travelling in struck a tree on the Moy Road, Dungannon, shortly after 5am.

He is believed to have been driving a silver BMW X5 car.

The Moy Road was closed in both directions for most of the day at its junctions with the Old Moy Road and the Culkerran Road.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed either accident or has dash-cam footage to contact them.
