An exhibition of photographs which explore the similarities and differences between people who share one of Belfast city centre's most historic streets, was officially opened last night.

The collection of photographs, which have been taken by war photographer, Stephen Wilson, centre around two of Donegall Street's oldest buildings - St Patrick's Church and Redeemer Central - "both of which bear scars of world war and civil conflict".

The images explore "two traditions that to the outsider seem remarkably similar but to each other are fundamentally different".

The `Same Difference' exhibition marks the centenary of the `Madonna of the Lakes' painting by Sir John Lavery being gifted to St Patrick's Church in 1919.

During the exhibition, which runs until June 16, images of St Patrick's Church can be viewed at Redeemer Central while images of Redeemer Central can be viewed at St Patrick's Church.
