A 27-year-old man has been arrested after shots were fired at a house in Lisburn, Co Down.

A kitchen window of a property in The Green was smashed after shots were fired at the property at around 11.30pm on Tuesday.

Police described the shooting, the second such attack in the Lisburn area in the last week, as "senseless and reckless".

The man was arrested nearby on suspicion of causing criminal damage and possession of a firearm and is currently in police custody.

Police are investigating a link to the shooting last week.

A couple and their 15-year-old daughter escaped injury after a shotgun was fired through the living room window of their Lisburn home in the Hillhall Park area just after midnight last Tuesday.

Damage was caused to a living room window by what appeared to be a shot fired from a shotgun.
