A PICTURE has been published of Lurgan republican `youths' burning a banner pledging support for Bloody Sunday's Soldier F.

The banner which had been hanging in the Co Armagh town was removed at the weekend and burnt by the group who hid their identity with scarves and their jacket collars.

It is one of scores of banners and Rarachute Regiment flags appearing in loyalist areas all over Northern Ireland in support of the British soldier who is to be prosecuted for murder following the investigation into the events surrounding the Bloody Sunday killings in Derry's Bogside .

A group calling itself Anti Imperialist Action Ireland, which claims to be "campaigning against Brit, EU and US Imperialism in Ireland", posted the picture which shows the group standing in front of 'Join the IRA' graffiti featuring a gunman.

The group previously staged "direct action against colonialism" by spray painting over the word 'Victoria' on English street signs in Killiney, south Dublin.

The name was left untouched in the Irish wording above.

Soldier F is accused of murdering William McKinney and James Wray and the attempted murder of four other civil rights protesters on the same day.

The former paratrooper was granted anonymity along with other military witnesses by the Saville Inquiry into the killings.
