POLICE are investigating claims of a suspicious approach to a young man in Co Derry on Tuesday.

The alleged incident took place in the Church Street area of Maghera around 8.50am.

It is reported that the young man was approached by an unknown male driver who invited him to get into a car.

When he refused, the car made off.

A police spokesman said the man is described as aged in his 40s or 50s, bald and with a local accent. He is believed to have been driving a silver coloured car.
