The Muddlers Club has the `best customer service' in Ireland - it's official

BELFAST favourite The Muddlers Club can now officially boast `Best Customer Service', after a big win in the Irish Restaurant Awards 2019.

The awards took place, yesterday in the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin with more than 1,100 guests enjoying a black-tie gala dinner to celebrate the hard work over the year.

There were chefs representing each region of Ireland.

Ulster was well represented at the awards, with Chris McGowan of Wine and Brine in the running for best chef and the Coach House & Olde Bar and Clenaghansfor best pub and gastro pub respectively.

However, Michelin-starred Loam Restaurant in Galway beat Belfast's OX to be named Ireland's best restaurant.

Graham Neville of Dax Restaurant in Dublin won best chef and Doheny and Nesbitt in Dublin was named Pub of the Year.

Chief executive of the Restaurants Association of Ireland Adrian Cummins said the 11th year has been "the biggest year for the awards to date".

"The standard for judging this year has been very high. Ireland may be a small country, but it boasts everything from fine dining to high quality gastropubs, from the comfort of traditional Irish food to exploring the world through exotic world cuisine.

Saul McConnell of Noble in Holywood, Co Down was the Ulster nominee for best restaurant manager and Newforge House in Craigavon, Co Armagh for best hotel and guesthouse restaurant.

Hara in Hillsborough, Co Down was nominated as best newcomer, while Belfast's The Muddlers Club was nominated for best customer service and The Olde Glen Bar, Restaurant and Tea Room was in the running for best casual dining

Tuk Tuk Asian Bistro in Newtownards was nominated for best world cuisine and Dinkin's Home Bakery & Café in Monaghan town, best café.
