Two sisters from Belfast got the surprise of a lifetime recently when Gary Barlow drove them to a Take That concert.

Lindsey Abbott, a 32-year-old gym manager from Belfast and sister Katie Abbott, a 28-year-old retail worker based in Limavady, had been told they would be taking part in a pre-show video about their love of the band.

The sisters were surprised when Take That turned up to bring them - and other fans taking part in the promotion - to the venue in Sheffield themselves.

The subsequent video has been turned into a television advertisement for Suzuki that will be shown on Saturday May 11 during Britain’s Got Talent, with more stories of superfan journeys airing over the following weeks.

Katie said: “The whole experience was overwhelming, and when I got into the car with Gary I welled up immediately. To go from singing along to Take That songs in a car with my sister – who’s the reason behind my love of the band - to actually singing with our idol felt like a dream. I thought it was for a while!

"The best bit was being able to just talk to Gary about anything and everything on the drive. He’s just as lovely as you think he’d be.”

Lindsey said: “This was like winning the lottery – but better. I actually met Gary when I was younger on a talk show, and he could not have been nicer; I never thought that all these years later he’d be my driver to one of his shows."
