Funeral to be held for young man killed in Co Antrim road crash

Freddy McKendry died in a crash on Sunday

THE funeral will take place tomorrow of a young man killed in a road crash in Co Antrim.

Freddy McKendry from Cloughmills died in a single-car collision in Loughgiel just before 11pm on Sunday.

Police said he was driving an Audi that crashed on Altnahinch Road.

Mr McKendry, who was aged in his early 20s, has been described as an "amazing, kind, lovely" person.

A former pupil of St Patrick’s College, Ballymena, it is understood he had recently lived and worked in Australia and was involved in the building trade.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Cloughmills tomorrow at 11am followed by interment in adjoining cemetery.

He is survived by his parents Amanda and Francis and siblings Stephen, Caitriona, Cathír, Emmett and Padraig and family circle.
