AN investigation is under way after a crewman died in an accident on a fishing boat in Co Down on Monday.
The man, who has not been named, was on board the Scottish-registered fishing vessel Artemis in Kilkeel harbour.
The NI Ambulance Service (NIAS) confirmed they were called to an incident at the harbour around 4.30pm.
A Marine Accident Investigation Branch spokesperson said: “We have sent two investigators to Kilkeel, Northern Ireland to investigate an accident involving the death of a crewman on fishing vessel Artemis while alongside in port.”
A spokesperson for the NIAS said, "NIAS despatched one emergency crew and one rapid response paramedic to the scene.
"The charity air ambulance was also despatched to the incident.
"Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, no one was transferred to hospital."
