A 34-year-old man is expected to appear in court later this month after a man needed 20 stitches to his face from a knife wound.

It happened on Cliftonville Road in north Belfast at around 9.30pm on Wednesday.

Police said they have charged a man with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and he is due to appear before a district judge at Belfast Magistrates Court on April 26.

Detectives said the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service as is normal procedure.
