Man dies in two-car crash on A1

Police said a man has died following a fatal crash on the A1 

A man has died following a two-car crash on the A1 yesterday.

The collision happened between Dromore and Banbridge, Co Down, close to the Gowdystown Road junction shortly before 6.30pm.

Two people were taken to Daisy Hill hospital in Newry with non-life threatening injuries.

They were described as being in a stable condition last night.

Paramedics, including the Air Ambulance helicopter, were sent to the scene.

Police have appealed to anyone who saw the crash to come forward.

The section of the A1 where the crash happened was closed last night but has since been reopened.
