Man accused of Pauline Kilkenny murder returned for trial
A 28-YEAR-OLD man accused of murdering of Pauline Kilkenny at her remote home in Co Fermanagh last year has been returned for trial.
Joseph Dolan, who has been in custody since his arrest, appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates Court accused of murdering Ms Kilkenny (59) at some time between November 6 and 14 2018.
The accused, of no fixed abode, is further accused of stealing her car and perverting the course of justice by falsely implicating another person in the murder.
Dolan confirmed he understood the charges and on being asked if he wished to call witnesses or give evidence on his own behalf during the short hearing replied, “"Not at this stage."
A prosecution lawyer told the court there is a case to answer which was agreed by the judge.
Dolan was remanded in continuing custody to appear for arraignment at Dungannon Crown Court on May 7.
Ms Kilkenny's body was found at her remote rural home on the Cornacully Road between Belleek and Garrison.
Relatives had become concerned when she did not show up for work after having booked a few days off. Her sister called at the house and made the grim discovery.
A 26-year-old woman arrested around the same time as Dolan was later released unconditionally.
