A search operation has been launched in Co Antrim for a missing woman.

Nicola Murray (43) was last seen leaving her home in the Cushendall area on Saturday at around 6.15pm.

She was wearing a short red padded coat, dark blue jeans and a pink coloured beanie hat.

Members of the Community Rescue Service (CRS), Coast Guard, PSNI and local volunteers have all been involved in a land and sea search for the missing woman.

CRS spokesman Sean McCarry last night said the PSNI helicopter has also been involved and urged anyone with information about the woman to contact police.

“Police and ourselves are very concerned for her well-being and safety considering the weather conditions and temperature,” he said.

Sinn Féin representative Oliver McMullan said the local community will give the woman’s family ”their full support”.
