A MAN in his sustained cuts to his face and head during a racially-motivated attack in north Belfast.

The victim was targeted on the Ligoniel Road, shortly before 11.15am on Sunday.

The man was assaulted by two men, who then escaped towards the Crumlin Road.

The man received a cut to both his head and above the eye which required hospital treatment.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Enquiries are continuing and at this stage, we are investigating this incident as a racially motivated hate crime.

"The males are described as being 5ft 8in in height, shaved heads and wearing dark jackets and jeans".
