LOYALIST Mark Harbinson appeared in court today accused of assaulting a police officer.

Appearing at Lisburn Magistrates Court, 52-year-old Harbinson confirmed he understood the charge against him.

Harbinson, from Sheepwalk Road in Lisburn, is accused of assaulting a police constable on January 31 this year.

None of the facts were opened in court.

Freeing Harbinson on bail, Deputy District Judge Philip Mater ordered him to come back to court in two weeks.
