GARDAÍ have issued a fresh appeal for information about the paramilitary murder of Strabane man Andrew Burns on the 11th anniversary of his death.
The 27-year-old was shot dead by the Real IRA on February 12 2008 at Donnyloop in Co Donegal.
The Real IRA member was found dying on a road close to the village church and pronounced dead a short time later.
In 2012, Strabane bus driver Martin Kelly of Barrack Street was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder. However, gardaí believe a number of other people were also involved.
A spokesman said: “An Garda Síochána are very grateful for all the witnesses that have come forward and made statements. However, An Garda Síochána urged anyone with any information to come forward; the investigation is open and it is never too late to come forward.”
The spokesman said all information would be treated in the strictest of confidence.
