A WOMAN has died following a three-car crash which claimed the lives of two Slovakian men in Co Tyrone.

Police said the woman had passed away yesterday from injuries she suffered in the collision on the Dungannon Road in Moy on Sunday afternoon.

She was one of three people - a man and two women - who were taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries following the crash.

The two men from Slovakia who died are understood to have been living in the Dungannon area. They had been travelling in a silver Skoda Octavia when it was in collision with a grey Toyota and black Volvo shortly before 2pm.

It remained unclear last night which car the deceased woman was travelling in.

Police said "no further details will be released at this time in relation to ages or identities of the deceased".

A PSNI spokesman added that a "man and another woman injured in the collision remain in hospital at this time".

Tom Sullivan, honorary consul for Slovakia, said the embassy in London had been in contact with the families of those who had died and will be providing consular assistance to their relatives.

Police have also renewed their appeal for witnesses or anyone travelling on Dungannon Road in Moy on Sunday afternoon to contact them.

Sinn Féin's Michelle Gildernew, MP for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, expressed her sympathies following the death of the third person in the fatal road crash.

"News that a third person has died following Sunday's fatal collision near The Moy has caused great sadness in the local community," she said.

"Following the two deaths on Sunday, it has now been confirmed that a woman has also died.

"My thoughts are with the families of all those bereaved by the collision at this sad time."

There have also been calls for increased safety measures to be implemented along the route, which has been described as a "notorious accident blackspot".

In response, a Department for Infrastructure spokeswoman said: "The department would like to extend deepest sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives as a result of the tragic collision in Co Tyrone on Sunday.

"The department will liaise with the PSNI and assist them with their investigation and will of course carefully consider any recommendations made."
