A SECURITY alert in Co Antrim ended today after a suspicious object was declared “nothing untoward”.

The A6 Belfast Road in Antrim was closed this morning between the New Lodge and Rathmore roads after the object was discovered.

The alert ended after the British Army bomb squad examined the object.
